Our Yamaha WaveRunner rentals run 400 dollars for an eight hour day, with six day and seven day options available for longer trips. Prices include sales tax and rentals are plus fuel. Riders must be 18 or older with valid identification and a Michigan boating safety certificate to operate. Renting is the best way to feel the difference between a lightweight recreation model and a larger touring hull before you spend on a purchase. Many buyers rent for a weekend, fall in love with a specific model, and come back ready to order. You can book a rental online and reserve your dates early, since summer weekends fill up fast.

The Yamaha WaveRunner Lineup and Which Model Fits You

Yamaha builds three main families of WaveRunners, and each one suits a different rider.

The recreation lineup is where most first time buyers start. The Jet Blaster and the VX series are light, easy to handle, and friendly for new riders and families. The 2026 VX Deluxe is a popular choice at 13,499 dollars, offering a comfortable seat, strong fuel economy, and enough power to pull a tube.

The touring lineup steps up in comfort and range. The FX series is built for riders who spend long days covering water on lakes like Burt and Mullett. The 2026 FX HO with Audio adds a premium sound system and a smooth, stable ride at 17,799 dollars.

The performance lineup is for riders chasing speed. Supercharged GP and FX SVHO models deliver the strongest acceleration Yamaha offers. The 2025 GP SVHO is a race inspired hull at 17,499 dollars for riders who want the most excitement on the water.

How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Yamaha WaveRunner

A Yamaha WaveRunner rental is 400 dollars for an eight hour day plus fuel, with multi day rates available. A life vest and tube can be added for a small flat fee, and all riders must hold a Michigan boating safety certificate.

Do I Need a Boating License in Michigan

Anyone born after June 30, 1996 needs a Michigan boating safety certificate to operate a WaveRunner. You can complete the course through the Michigan DNR before your ride or purchase.

September 2019 I was on a motorcycle trip with a dear friend of mine heading north on I-75 when a link on the chain of my motorcycle locked up and jumped the sprockets - basically putting me in desperate need of help. I was towed to Indian River Sports Center. They quickly diagnosed the situation and were able to locate and source the parts needed fast. They had the parts overnighted, put my repairs as a priority, and me back on the road in less than 48 hours! In addition to this - they helped me find WONDERFUL accommodations close to town within walking distance to good food.
They took care of this tired traveler --- and with my travel companion needing to move on to meetup we were joining, they made me as a solo female feel safe and well taken care of.
